‘All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak

in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.’

– Acts2:4 –

Every year, on Pentecost, Christians celebrate the day that the Holy Spirit first came to Jesus’ followers in power, giving them the ability to carry forward his mission of bringing the world back to God. It seems to have come as something of surprise to Jesus’ first followers, and it definitely surprised the people of Jerusalem. God, however, had been preparing for this day from the very beginning and preparing each of Jesus’ followers since before they were born.

We know this because of what the Bible says about why and how God shapes each and every one of us for his purposes. God shapes each and every one of us in a perfectly unique way to fulfill his perfect life-giving purposes.

Starting this Sunday, we are going to learn more about how God has shaped us, how we can know our shape, and how we can see God’s Spirit using the way we have been shaped to do the amazing things in the world.

There are innumerable details that have gone in to who God made you to be, more than anyone could ever fully account for in this life. But to get us started we are going to explore five aspects of how God has shaped you: your Spiritual gifts, Heart (or passions), Abilities, Personality, and Experience.  My hope is that as we begin to see the unique ways in which God shapes each one of us that we’ll have a deeper appreciation for God’s presence, purpose and power in each one of our lives, and in our life together.

We are pleased to announce that we have received from the Province of New Brunswick’s  Social Development Department, Project Development Feasibility Funding of $49,000.00  for our proposed 17 unit seniors apartment building.

This funding will allow us to complete the following:

  1. Establishment of a not for profit corporation
  2. Rezoning and subdivision plans and approvals
  3. Business plan including capital cost budgets and operating budgets
  4. Final working drawings and specifications to allow us to go to tender
  5. Seek out project financing

The rezoning application process will start at the June 12, 2018 Town Council meeting and hopefully be approved at the September 11, 2018 Town Council Meeting.
Diocese of Fredericton permission to transfer the land from the Parish of Hampton to the new not for profit corporation would then occur in October.

The new not for profit corporation will be put in place by May 31, 2018 and it will be run by a board of ten (10) people. The following five committee members have agreed to join the new board – Rev. David Turner, Clarence Miller, Shonaugh Moore, Patrick Hanratty, Donna Leonard and Stephen MacMackin.

If you would like to have  your name considered to serve on this new board, please submit your name to the Wardens.
An information package is at the back of the church with an application for you to complete.

We are very excited that we are making progress in seeing this housing development built. This last phase of design work and getting project financing is the final hurdle.
