In the spring of 2010 St Paul’s entered into a partnership with Communities in Bloom to help our neighbors in need of fresh produce. Our Community Food Basket joined the team and a wonderful new project was born. Using fertile land that we owned but were not yet using, the community garden started to take shape. The bountiful garden has been able to provide fresh produce for those in need, in addition to providing community members with the opportunity to learn and work together. New gardeners are always welcome.
Your Very Own Plot
Those who want to get involved are encouraged to sign up for, plant, care for and harvest their own garden plot. Plot registration begins September 1. There is a limit of one plot per family until May 1; after which any remaining plots will be assigned among those who request additional plots.
There is no fee for a garden plot. Donations for garden improvements are welcome and cheques can be made payable to “St. Paul’s Anglican Church”. The recommended donation is $30 per family and a tax receipt will be issued upon request. To register for a plot contact Chris Rednell at 832-4660
